Dear Colleagues,
IPTS 2022, celebrating its 40th anniversary now starting with the first IPTS in 1982, will be held online as a virtual symposium due to the uncertainties in travel restrictions and changing Covid-19 cases and variants in the world. We would like to thank you for your support and your kind cooperation in reconfirming your participation when the symposium was first postponed to September 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemics that affected the whole world drastically.
In the meantime, vaccination has gained momentum in Turkey as well as other regions of the world and as of now almost 70% of the Turkish population has received 2 shots of Covid-19 vaccine of inactive virus or mRNA type vaccines. However, with new variants of the virus and the still slow rate of mass vaccination, number of new cases are significant (more than 28,000 cases daily as of today) leading to continuous social distancing and wearing of face masks in Turkey as in the case of many other countries.
The IPTS Organizing Committee has been closely following the situation in the world in terms of public life, travel restrictions and the status of scientific meetings. After careful consideration of statistics and reports by the Ministry of Health, WHO and FIP, we have reached the point where waiting until September 2022 can still result in holding an obligatory online IPTS. Meanwhile, regarding the numerous abstracts already submitted and the fact that giving a long break to the traditional IPTS series held every two years can be disappointing to the IPTS community, we decided to go ahead and hold the IPTS 2022 in the beginning of the year as a virtual meeting.
We will still keep our scientific programme with your support and hold the industrial sessions as well as the scientific sessions online adding up-to-date new lectures as well. Invited lectures will be given real-time on the online platform.
IPTS 2022 will feature a theme of “Shaping the Future of Pharmaceutics” and will consist of 3 days for scientific sessions. There will be plenary lectures and session lectures given by the “Invited Speakers” from all around the world, and also “oral presentations” selected by the submitted abstracts and “poster session” from different fields of pharmaceutical sciences will also take place.
In addition to the Scientific Sessions, Special Industrial and Regulatory Sessions will be realized. The industrial session titles are: “Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing Solutions”, “Rare Diseases and Orphan Drugs”, “Data Science and Cyber Tools in Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing Sciences” and “Interchangeability of Pharmaceuticals: Current Status and Future Outlook”.

Abstracts must be received online by the Symposium Agency(eda.bektore@dmrturizm.com.tr) not later than December 31, 2021. Faxed abstracts will not be accepted.
No corrections and changes will be allowed after submission.

Best Oral Presentation Award will be given to one of the oral presentations after the scientific evaluation of the jury. The jury will be evaluating the abstract of the oral presentation as well as the presentation that will be done by the candidates. The candidates shall make a presentation in English (5 minutes presentation+ 2 minutes discussion) on 21 February 2022, which is also going to be considered as a parameter for the scoring of the presentation by the jury members. The jury will be evaluating the presentation technique, scientific content and timing of the presentation. The results will be announced in the closing ceremony of IPTS 2022 and the winner will be awarded with a honorarium and free registration for 21stIPTS.
Best Poster Award will be given to one of the poster presentations after the scientific evaluation of the jury. This jury will be evaluating the candidate during the poster session and over the abstract which will be submitted by the authors. The results will be announced in the closing ceremony of IPTS 2022 and the winner will be awarded with a honorarium and free registration for 21stIPTS.
Best M.Sc. and Ph.D. Thesis Awards are now opened for candidates registered to M.Sc. and Ph.D. Programmes of Division of Pharmaceutical Technology under the Institute of Health Sciences of Universities in Republic of Turkey.
